Over the last 3 years, ARC has organized a variety of educational activities.

Lectures for the general audience

ARC researchers and physicians have addressed issues related to living and playing at altitude in various locations in the state of Colorado.

Workshops for health care providers

Thanks to a grant from the Colorado Health Foundation ARC was able to organize a series of seminars in different parts of Colorado in 2004 and 2006. These seminars were aimed at physicians and allied health professionals practicing in high altitude clinics and hospitals.

Topics discussed were:

  • a general update on altitude illness
  • hypertension at altitude
  • neonatal care and research
  • training at altitude
  • effect of altitude on common medical conditions

Seminars for researchers

These seminars are oriented toward the research community and are held once monthly at the UCDHSC Fitzsimons campus.

At Altitude Research Center, our skilled group of applied and clinical scientists engages in the study of high altitude medicine and physiology in a concerted effort
to promote the health of all people in the high country.>
